At age nine Nathan wrote his first programme script on his Commodore 16! Around the same time he started to watch reruns of Star Trek and became fascinated with all thing space related. As Nathan grew he observed how technology was being applied into people’s lives (predicting whilst at college that the internet would become the main conduit for entertainment by 2020 – but unfortunately not investing!) and like most people is enjoying the fact that what was once science-fiction is starting to become a reality.

Nathan started his career at Nestlé where for nearly 15 years he successfully navigated a path that would enable him to apply his experience into the business that he runs today. His first role in the company was within the IT function where for seven years Nathan helped to provide computer related support for Nestlé’s UK based operations. He became involved in projects that looked at how technology was used to manage and resolve IT related problems, which allowed him to become a central point of contact for the development of the organisations intranet – his interest in web development and it’s practical use had been born.[/one_half]

In 2004 Nathan moved his ambitions to focus on how people use computer related technology to learn. He joined the Human Resources function and became a catalyst for moving away from the ‘off-the-shelf e-Learning’ packages that Nestlé had invested in, to developing and implementing technologies that enabled the learners to become central to the learning experience.  His web development expertise was still being utilised within projects that included creating Nestlé’s career website in the UK, and global projects that looked at how Nestlé shared information to employees both locally and globally.

He later joined the Marketing function and provided advice and insight into how digital technologies could be better utilised and managed to by the organisation and it’s brands, become a foundation stone for the development of Nestlé’s Social Media Framework.

After leaving Nestlé in 2011 Nathan continued to gain digital marketing experience as a free-lancer working directly with clients, and through consultancy work with digital agencies.

In 2013 he wanted to relight his passion for understanding how technology is used to aid learning. Even more so he wanted to help shape it’s use in an ever increasingly changing world… and so Bloom By Learning was formed.[/one_half_last]
